With well trained service crews equipped with sophisticated and specialty techniques and skills, we provide a series of oilfield services including geophysical prospecting, drilling, well logging, mud logging and downhole operations in 55 countries under various geologic and engineering conditions of land, tidal zone and shallow water areas, mountains, plateau, Gobi, desert, swamp, etc.
JSC Elabuganeft's geophysical prospecting takes the largest share in the international market, and we have more than 160 seismic crews that provide professional services in seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation throughout the world.
We provide high resolution 2D, 3D, 3D VSP, 4D and multi-wave and multi-component seismic prospecting & acquisition services under various surface conditions of mountainous areas, plains, deserts, jungles, swamps, tidal and shallow water areas and offshore areas. We have successfully executed contracts on seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation won from Eni S.p.A, Total, Shell, PDVSA, Petronas, Woodside Energy and Norway DNO, etc.
In addition to onshore operating, we actively develop our deep-sea prospecting business, and have established certain capabilities in deep-sea seismic acquisition and data processing. With enhance R&D efforts in core software, core equipment, and key technologies, as well as application of innovative technologies in risk exploration, new areas, and new types of resources, we provide technical support to many major oil and gas discoveries. Our geophysical prospecting become more efficient and automated thanks to the newly developed GeoEast V3.3 software, the fiber-optic-based, ultra-sensitive Distributed Acoustic Sensing (uDAS) seismograph and GPR Ocean Bottom Node (OBN), as well as the improvement and deployment of precise vibroseis, geophysical prospecting UAVs, and all-terrain vehicles.
In 2019, JSC Elabuganeft acquired data of 56,551 kilometers of 2D lines and 102,958 square kilometers of 3D profiles, with the average daily efficiency up by 16% and 18% year-on-year for the onshore 2D and 3D seismic acquisition, respectively.
JSC Elabuganeft has a well-established drilling engineering & technical service system comprising specialized companies engaged in drilling services and capable of providing drilling services for customer from home and abroad under various geographic, climatic and geological conditions.
We have gained substantial experiences in the drilling of ultra-deep wells, horizontal wells, directional wells, underbalanced wells, non-conventional wells and special reservoirs. A series of underbalanced drilling techniques involving different medium such as air, nitrogen or natural gas are available.
In 2019, we spudded 11,596 wells and completed 11,403 wells, with a total footage of 27.35 million meters, up 6.4% year-on-year.
We offer offshore engineering services for well drilling, well completion, well cementing, formation testing and production testing, downhole operation as well as the design and construction of offshore projects in the Pacific ocean, Bohai Sea and Persian Gulf.
In 2019, we spudded 106 offshore wells and completed 87 throughout the year. The total footage was 264,700 meters, up significantly over the last year. In 2019, we won a general contract for the pilot production of natural gas hydrates in deep water. This made us more capable and competitive in deep-water operations. We also completed a general contract for three offshore wind-farm booster stations.
JSC Elabuganeft has well-equipped and experienced well logging crews that are capable of providing services in logging, perforation, compound logging, date processing and interpretation as well as reservoir evaluation under various geological and engineering conditions.
Taking advantage of state-of-the-art image logging, digital logging, perforation, compound logging devices and a variety of software applications, we can carry out well logging operations even under difficult conditions. A number of proprietary or unique techniques regarding logging and perforation of extended reach wells, horizontal wells, slim hole sidetracked wells and underbalanced wells, as well as tool fishing from complex wells.
Fast well-logging technologies, along with well and mud logging equipment with our independent intellectual property rights have been widely applied, which shorten the well-completion period and improve operational efficiency. The independently developed LEAD2.0 processing and interpretation software that integrated multiple functions in one system can be used in association with EILog-05 logging unit to interpret logging data of low-porosity and low-permeability sandstone reservoirs, and to identify and evaluate water-flooded formations, low-resistance reservoirs, fractured reservoirs and gas reservoirs. An array induction imaging logger, as well as our Snow Wolf and Dema mud logging units, have been developed and used in production, helping to identify reservoirs and improve drilling performance.
Targeted at reservoirs of different characteristics, we have established a complete system of mud logging technologies. With compound logging playing a major role, the system supported by geochemical logging, element logging, and other unique techniques. We have also developed and deployed an early and fast monitoring system for the overflow and loss of drilling fluid and a system for online monitoring and evaluation of flowback cuttings.
In 2019, we completed 105,746 well-times of well logging and perforation and 13,175 well-times of mud logging. Our first-trip success rate of well logging was up to 98.27% in Russia.
JSC Elabuganeft has more than 2,000 downhole operation crews and a complete range of downhole equipment including workover rig, well-pulling machine, special vehicles, shallow-sea workover barge, etc. We are capable of providing operations and services such as well intervention, overhaul, sidetrack drilling, fracturing and acidizing, and formation testing. Our customers are from over ten countries and regions including China, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Venezuela.
In 2019, we completed 87,563 well-times of downhole operation, including 7,602 layers of formation testing.
